Last Thursday's show at Pastime Tavern is the best line-up I've booked so far this year. Throughout the entire evening, seeing all the people and bands being introduced to (and enjoying) each other's music was extremely gratifying.
Seattle's Pleasureboaters started off the evening impressing everyone, since no one knew who they were. El Paso Hot Button summoned his inner "jon spencer blues explosion", gaining fans song by song. Every guy in the room was completely mesmerized with four salacious ladies, the Coathangers, playing catchy and raunchy punk tunes, and all the White Mice fans were definitely pleased, but knew what to expect.
Here are some videos from that evening:
Pleasureboaters "rockpaperscissors" and "elliptical realism"
the Coathangers "Parcheezzi" (off S/T from Die Slaughterhaus/Rob's House)
the Coathangers "Shake Shake" (off their 7" from Suicide Squeeze)
White Mice - "Munstabateher" and "Placentard"
White Mice's Setlist:
Munstabateher
Placentard
Caged M.
Maze
Ganjahovahdose
Passsthefissst
Apecacalips
Limburger
videos from El Ps Ht Btn and Dj Scotch Egg to come (maybe).
